    Hi ya
I am going on a little holiday with my residents next week 6th to the 10th with 'just go holidays' great little trains of north wales :) lol

We be going to Conwy Valley Railway, Welsh highland Railway and Ffestiniog Railway. We are hoping to have a great time, if you see me say hi.
Does anyone work at these railways and have any tips to look out for anything?

    Thanx

    Ally

If you want to see Lyd, the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway loco, it will be on the 11.40 and 16.00 from Porthmadog on the FR from Monday until Thursday.

I can recommend the double Fairlie Merddin Emrys, though, for a gutsy little performer on the FR - last week my wife and I enjoyed sitting in the open carriage immediately behind her, despite the usual Welsh weather. We were about 20 minutes down at Minffordd and only 2 down at BF - very atmospheric!

Just Go! are very good. I went to N Wales with them last week - not a railway holiday as such, but my wife and I took a day out on our own and went on the Ffestiniog line; our outing on the coach next day took us to Llanberis where we took a ride on the Llanberis Lake Rly. I meant to 'do' the Rhyl Miniature Rly as well, but this might have been pushing my luck too far with my better half! The Westminster Hotel at Rhyl was good with big rooms and plenty of choice for our meals.

Lol I was like :) :) all the way round. Sun was shining hot and I had like 5 cameras to take pictures for my residents because they wasn't getting the 'head out window round the bend look' lol I'm defo taking hubby back so I can stop off at stations as we wasn't allowed with the coach party. Got a few piccys of the engines and the out of this world views!! :) service on the trains was good. One little point the guard unlocked our seating area before we got on it at another station but I think that was down to miss communication on coach party/ railway side. This meant we all couldn't sit together but we all did got on :) xx

I can remember back in 1976 doing a number of them in 1 weekend.
Welshpool to start, then Vale of Rheidol, Tallylln, Bala, Llanberis and Ffestiniog to finish on the sunday.

That was the day the 76 drought finished as I was driving the transit and my window was stuck open.
