An off-topic question for the original poster: Have you yet finished your loco works building? Info on the build has not been available on the internet since your website stopped having what I might call "enthusiast" info a couple of years ago.

    Thanks.

Are there any plans to correct the false information on the advertisement for the event?

Just a quick reminder the event is now a week away and everything is shaping up nicely.

Tornado arrived on Wednesday and as I type there are an army of cleaners going over her.

Contrary to reports in Steam Railway, the Duke will be in action over the gala weekend and she is due to arrive here in the next couple of days I believe.

The Duke has now been swapped for 4464 Bittern. :hurt:

It's a real shame because the Duke was the loco I was most looking forward to seeing.

Great news for me too - whilst I love 71000, and it will be missed, I felt the line up was a little too similar to last year and I hope and believe the variety will prove beneficial for visitor numbers at this event. Best of luck to the 71000 team - hopefully we will see it out and about again, even if only on preserved lines.

So - in unfortunate circumstances we end up with two glamorous ECML 'Pacifics' working together within sight of the ECML at Peterborough. Quite a 'runner up' prize!

All locos, apart from the Austerity, are facing East, towards Peterborough. I don't believe anything is planned to be turned

Quite a nice view out the office window, A4 in steam on one road, having arrived a couple of hours ago, the A1 on the road next to it with a warming fire in, and the 4F and standard 5 both in steam following filming work and boiler exam respectively on the road next to that! Our own little Peterborough New England Shed!

Wow what a gala this turned out to be. Here are my shots from Saturday. I'm already looking forward to the NVR's next one. They seem to be getting better everytime recently. With the new pit soon to be operational it will be interesting to see what they can attract being at the ideal spot on the East Coast Main Line for servicing.

Turned out to be a very enjoyable event, I'm told it was extremely busy on the Saturday when there were blue skies and wall-to-wall sunshine. Unfortunately I chose to visit on the Sunday, when the weather was overcast, then downright dismal. So I have an appeal to make:

If anyone has any decent photos of the freight train in action (particularly on the sunny Saturday) that they would be prepared to allow the Wagon Group to use on our website and other publicity material, they would be very much appreciated. Any images used will credit the photographer (please include your name if you wish to be credited!) Please send any contributions to nvrblog(AT)hotmail.co.uk (Replace (AT) with @). The same goes for any older photos showing the van train of the 1990's as we do not have many images of this. Very many thanks in advance to anyone who is able to help.
