    Hi Folks

I am very pleased to confirm that over Friday 12th and Saturday 13th October there will be a Photo Charter at the Gwili Railway near Carmarthen, using Haulwen and Welsh Guardsman which is returning to steam this summer.

The Friday will be recreating a Miners train which would've carried the miners up to one of the many mines over the country, followed by a night shoot at Bronwydd Arms and the Saturday will be recreating an Army Supply’s train during WWII, We shall be using both loco's on the Saturday which will be the FIRST time that they will have been paired together facing the same way in steam in the railways history. I am currently arranging a few extra bits for both days of the charter but these will be kept as a surprise.

We will be starting on the Friday at 9am from Bronwydd Arms station finishing at 5pm ready for the night shoot to start at 6.30pm and finish at 8.30pm.
The Saturday will start at 8am and finish at 5pm.

If you are interested or have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me on jrphotocharters@live.co.uk or PM me for details.

    Regards

    James Rodgers

Interesting. What stock will you be using for the two trains?

    Right then folks!
The plan for the Friday is as follows - Welsh Guardsman on the front, Selection of box vans (doors open/ removed), a wooden bodied coach, i am looking at including another item of rolling stock but need to get the item in question checked over first before its confirmed for use.
The plan for the Saturday is as follows - Welsh Guardsman + Haulwen on the front, 2 Bogie Bolsters loaded with army supply's, Lowmac (possibly loaded), Tanker, Army wagons, Toad/ Wooden bodied coach.

Both loco's will be "dirtied up and Vinyls applied" to fit in with the trains.

Thanks for the message. Surely Haulwen will be a better choice for the miners train? It is after all in NCB livery. Please keep us all updated on progress.

There is a chance Haulwen can be used but maintenance planned for start of Oct i believe so may not be ready in time for prep Thursday.

Funnily enough I was thinking the same.

If Haulwen is ready to be used for the Friday she shall be used instead of Welsh Guardsman but as i have said above she's due maintenance at the start of october so may not be finished until the Friday morning.

Can I also make it clear to those who are interested in coming along, your ticket will ONLY be reserved when I receive payment for the charter as if you turn up on the day expecting to come along you may end up disappointed if we are fully booked as there is a maximum of 40 per day.
    Thanks
    James

Hi folks! im after a bit of feedback to a suggest that has just been put to me by the assistant head of MPD at the Gwili for the charter, it goes as follows :- I have just been offered Jennifer for the charter to add some variety into the mix of things, i would probably be looking to use her on the FRIDAY of the charter along with Haulwen ( not double headed) perhaps swap the loco's over at some point in the day? this is just a suggestion and is far from confirmed! let me know what you think please folks :)

    James
