It looks like there was a newly repainted mk1 in the train - any idea what it is, and why it appears to be painted purple?

Just found a video showing t'other side - where it says 'Northern Belle' in large letters! Presumably borrowed to cover for another vehicle.

Gosh. I couldn't see any reference to the Valentine's Day VSOE! That must be the first time ever that a mainline steam tour has not been posted by National Preservation members. What a pity.

Allow me retrospectively to tell you that on 14th February she ran through Egham some 10 minutes early and without a diesel on the back. The infamous Brian from Bridgwater informed me today that the diesel pushing the train out of Victoria stopped suddenly at the end of the platform and so Clan Line had to climb the tortuous Grosvenor bank all on its own. A fantastic achievement with such a heavy train.

Back to today, I saw the train pass Woking dead on time again without a diesel on the back. Let's hope that this is a good omen for steam tours in 2012. If Network Rail can grant a diesel-less tour over its busy Southern routes, then surely other sectors can do the same - it's all about confidence.

I Flip Video'd both runs with 35028 this week but still haven't managed to work out how to download Flip clips to You Tube. Someone will probably offer some helpful advice on how to do this.

May not be very helpful, but I have a Creative Vado HD mini camcorder which I believe is very similar to a Flip. The software provided with this includes a link to upload videos direct to YouTube. Not sure if the Flip software includes the same.
Failing that, try this free programme.
