Seems like there are other people trying to flog it as well.

Spotted in Oxford at the weekend. Pretty accurate for a tin of fudge ...

Ralph, you may have started something here, next headline for Railway Heritage: Exclusive, NRM to sell Scotsman to recoup costs.......................................? You could be the source close to the owners!

The surprising thing is that they are (apparently) building this speculatively. They must have put a lot of cost and working capital into it.

Last year they were building one with track and coaches for a customer in Australia whether it's the same one ? Great Northern Steam» News .By the way it's only a 2 cylinder.

After spending many hours building this model the livery is very strange an odd shade of dark green with orange and black lining with very large LNER letters.

They are building 2 seperate loco's alongside each other, the first for a customer in Australia (who has specified the dark green colour) and another as a 'showpiece' for themselves, which is the one offered for sale here. Not in the background of the tender photo's there is another tender in the correct apple green livery!

Hmm I think that price is a little over the top. The railway where I drive has recently had a brand new 10 1/4 tender loco built at not even near the quater of the price being asked for there. Then again, someone somewhere may have a funny 5 minutes.....

I think No 7 and No 8 did have 3 cylinders but the middle ones were removed due to maintenance difficulties.

Local rag quoted them as saying this one was originally going to Dubai but the deal fell through. Now the state of reporting in our local rag I won't be surprised if they've got it wrong.

Yes but that was due to the poor Greenly designed valve gear for the middle cylinder.

the loco you refer to is a very very rare 1930's built miniature loco, designed and built by John Thurston.

I'd be happier with the second ebay lot there, now I just need a 960 foot garden...
