I have just ventured in writing an experimental series of Consumer Advice reviews on steam railways around the UK, aimed for the casual visitor as well as the die hard enthusiast. The first of these be viewed on my newly-launched blog, listed below:

If you like what you read, don't hesitate to leave any constructive feedback or suggest ways for me to improve my work. Any form of assistance would be greatly appreciated and I'm sure favors can be returned through negotiation.

    Thankyou

Just thought I'd update you with the blog.

So far, there's been two railway reviews with a third on the way. In the meantime, I've also taken the liberty of writing about the situation regarding photography being considered as a 'crime'; having a rant, but trying to be constructive at the same time.

So far, two railways have been reviewed; with a third one on the way. In the meantime, I have also taken the liberty of talking about the situation regarding railway photography being considered as an offence. Having a personal rant, but trying to remain constructive at the same time.

Re: E-G Media Blog + YT

After a long absence, I have since begun to showcase some of the short films I have produced for Uni; most involving steam engines in some way, shape or form.

My latest independent venture (and hopefully the start of things to come) is the first in a series of video documentary review on various steam loco classes; highlighting their history and development, good/bad points and their current role in preservation. The first of these is on the LMS Black 5s, later ones are likely to follow on a quarterly basis to begin with, looking at classes such as:
    GWR 57XXs
    GWR 'Castles'
    LNER A4s
    LMS Jintys
SR Bullieds (MN & Light Pacifics)
    SR Terriers
    BR 7MT 'Britannias'

As time goes by, I may begin asking viewers what they would like to see coming under review.
The railway reviews on the blog will continue, but on a less frequent basis.

    PLEASE NOTE:
Any views expressed in these videos are NOT those entirely of my own. There is no intention of offending any viewers and peers; just friendly debate.

    ENJOY!!!

    Hi Chris,
I've been highly interested with your series since the first trailer arrived as there isn't a series like this on youtube yet and your knowledge is amazing!
Can't wait to see the next in the series! BR 9f perhaps? :p

After a hectic few months, involving the re-distribution of E-G Media's content to The British Railway Stories Ltd channel, Episode 4 of Steam Locos In Profile has now been released; this time, looking at Bulleid's Pacifics.

Really impressed with the quality of your production, keep it up!

(although can't help but feel you might be a bit harsh on some lines in your reviews, but then, your criticisms do come across as constructive!)

That's understandable. Though I should explain there has never been any intention of upsetting anyone who volunteers on said railways (hell, I've been one of them over the years). It was more to give the casual visitor an idea of what to expect from their point of view.

Still, it seems the videos are a better bet. Glad you're enjoying them
