Surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet.

The Lincolnshire Wolds Railway will be holdind their second Steam Gala this weekend after last year's very successful gala. This year, we have "Jinty" 47406 (from the Great Central Railway) Haydock Foundry 0-6-0WT "Bellerophon" (from the Foxfield Railway) & Peckett 0-4-0ST 1438 (from the Appleby Frodingham Railway Preservation Society, making it's second visit to Ludborough) visiting the railway for the gala, as well as our own Peckett 0-4-0ST "Fulstow No. 2 in use. It is expected that "Jinty" 47406 will be facing south, the first steam loco to do so on this line since the 1960's. First train of each day will depart Ludborough at 09:45am, and North Thoresby at 10:10am.

Full details about the gala can be seen here: http://www.lincolnshirewoldsrailway.co.uk/pages/easter-gala.php

Also, on Friday 22nd April, there will be an evening photoshoot at Ludborough loco sheds of the 4 engines from 6pm to 9pm. More details on the website.

Went Yesterday and it was an excellent day out! The idea of using the locos for one way trips in each direction, and then alternating at each end, works a treat. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the sun shone all day and the VCT contingent enjoyed the event immensely. All credit to Lincs Wolds for this event!

After a very successful Gala this weekend, our next 2 running days (Sunday 1st & Monday 2nd May) will have all 4 steam locos in service again (Jinty 47406, Bellerophon, & Peckett's 1438 & 1749 "Fulstow", in the same format of running (a loco leading on all trains, with the 2 Peckett's working in a pair). Trains will run from 10:45 (first departure from Ludborough to North Thoresby at 10:45, first departure from North Thoresby to Ludborough at 11:10), with the last one at 16:10 (last departure from Ludborough to North Thoresby at 15:45, last departure from North Thoresby to Ludborough at 16:10). If anyone missed the weekend just gone, you have another chance this weekend to see all 4 steam locos in service once more.
