It was fabulous seeing Clan Line again, it was just a shame the pair got stuck behind a Javelin between Ashford and Dover as many of us on Platform 2 at Ashford were expecting them to charge through.

I have a theory that Stanier must have liked the sss--sss--sss--sss--sss--sss sound to go with the cylinder beat and designed them that way.........

It was a good way to end my travels behind steam on the mainline for 2010. Standard Class had no heating throughout so it was very chilly, although the free hot drinks and mulled wine helped warm us up. Nothing really to note, thanks to all involved etc.

Well done Steam Dreams and all involved. Would'nt it be good if

    34067 & 35028 could do a repeat run next year.food for thought.

Great pictures and videos everyone. Looks like it was a very good run. Lets hope Steam Dreams do more of these unusual doubleheaders as they add a bit of variety into the ML programme. 4472 & 6100 anyone? (runs for cover...............)

Or 34046 and 35028. Could be like the VSOE days in the late 1990s when 34027 and 35028 used to double head them. But wouldn't say no to 34067 and 35028.

    Great picture Oli.

Well done to all involved - great to see an unusual double header on the main line. Excellent to see that Clan Line is back to full health!

Just wondering what the braking arangements were for this tour? I'm I right in thinking 35028 in Air brake but the train was vac - was the Black 5 used as a translator? Which loco actually does the braking and which TPWS set is isolated?

    Just interested to know...

Vacuum brake handled by the Class 5 (that was overcooked once or twice). Clan Line is dual braked.
