Joining Hollycombe Steam In the Country resident Hunslet loco "Jerry M" over the weekend of the 25/26 September for a continental theme on the collections 2ft gauge Quarry Railway will see visiting locos including a recently restored polish loco engine no: 1966 as seen below. This engine was brought back into the Uk a few years from a museum in Holland by its current owner A visiting loco from the Statfold Barn collection will also be visiting(details to follow) and on display Mr and Mrs Barry Curls Feldbahn 0-8-0t no: 8310.
On the standard gauge railway will be the Societe John Cokerill 0-4-0 VBT locomotive "Yvonne" which has been resident at Hollycombe over the summer since its arrival in June for the annual Railway Weekend.

All this will be taking place alongside the collections regular attractions including the working traditional steam fairground.

The loco is based in hampshire and privately owned by one of the volunteers at Hollycombe. The loco did a test run last weekend at Hollycombe for their annual steam rally on Sept 11th/12th. The loco was then transported on Monday along with Hunslet loco Jack Lane to the Statfold Barn collection for their open day. The loco will return next week for the continental railway weekend and is possibly staying at the collection untill the end of the season.

Is this one of the locos that was initially purchased for the Golden Valley line at Butterley?

Privately owned by its owner who is based in hampshire and has a workshop there but no railway. Owner is a volunteer at Hollycombe and will use the loco here and possibly visit other railways in near future.

Is this the same owner with the KS Brazil class loco equipped with side tanks ? I take it that that is no longer at Hollycombe ?

No this isn't a Barry Curl loco, and the Hunslet 0-4-2 is back at Durley.

This thread, and the Statfold Barn thread referring to the same loco, seem to be pussyfooting around the name of the owner, which may cause confusion and speculation. Has he asked for anonymity?

Due to transportation problems the loco which was visiting from the statfold barn collection will sadly not be there. Good news is the polish loco arrived today. polish.jpg

No pussyfooting Ken, but I felt I should ask the owner his permission first before posting his name. The loco is owned by Mr Rob Gambrill.
