This years Railway Weekend to be held over the weekend of 5-6 June at Hollycombe - Steam In The Country near Liphook Hants will have a Hunslet theme to it.
Joining the collections resident Hunslet loco Jerry M on the 2ft gauge 'Quarry Railway' will be three visiting quarry Hunslets – Lilla, Britomart and the newly-restored Edward Sholto.
The short standard gauge line will see its first steam operation in several years with the arrival of the Belgian-built Société John Cockerill 0-4-0 VBT loco Yvonne.
Down on the 7 1/4 miniature 'Garden Railway' there will be multiple locos in operation including a visiting model of Hunslet Lilla, and around the site there will be a variety of model railway layouts adding to the event.

Britomart and Edward Sholto, as well as Jerry M! And all of 300 miles from North Wales Quarryland!
I love the set up uou've got at Hollycombe. It deserves to be better known. I've visited many times since the 1980s. On my first ever visit, an extra loud whistle from Jerry M upset my 18 month old daughter to the extent that I had to carry her for what seemed like forever. Hey ho.

The arrival of the visiting Hunslets at Hollycombe today(2 June) was a fantastic sight with the three visiting Hunslets arriving together on one trailer ready for this weekend's Railway Weekend event at the steam collection.

Makes me glad I have moved to Hampshire. I am hoping to be there on Saturday.

Unlikely to get a footplate trip like I did when Palmerston was there, but still should be a good day out.

Thanks for the positive comments in regards to the photos.

You may all be interested to know that both Lilla & Britomart will hopefully running at Hollycombe this sunday for one final time before they leave.
