The Lancastrian Transport Trust have now just about finalised our summer tour plans. First up is the 26 June event - the day before totallytransport. With no confirmed visiting trams yet we have decided to use Coronation 304 and Brush 632 for the day starting at 1030 at Depot, 1045 at North Pier and running a shuttle Pleasure Beach-North Pier-Bispham until about 1700.

We have decided to cancel the Saturday 17 July tour - due to the cancellation of Tram Sunday the day after - we hope to add another date later in the year.

Saturday 7 and 8 August will see the "Big Tram Weekend" including:
Saturday day: "VAMBAC and Veteran" 304 and Standard 143 are booked
    Saturday evening: Tour with 143
Sunday day: "Different Standards", compare and contrast Marton Box 31, Standard 143 and Standard 147.
The daytime tours are likely to be Pleasure Beach to Bispham shuttle service - the evening trips tbc.

Our 125 week events are also available for booking - though final details are still to be confirmed, but the plans are:
Thursday 23 September (day) OMO 8 and Railcoach 279 (possible third car tbc)
Friday 24 September (day) "Marton Memories" 31, 143 and one more tbc
Sunday 26 September (eve) - Standard 143 trip.
Again the day events are Bispham shuttles.

    You can book on-line at:
    http://www.tramsmagazine.co.uk/vmchk/Coastal-Tours/View-all-products.html
Or at Blackpool Tram Shop, or by post from LTT using the booking form at: http://www.totallytransport.info/reports/LTT_Booking_Form_26_June_2010.pdf

If you have any questions, please drop me a line off group.

    Regards
    Paul

And don't forget tomorrow's unique event - 307 (or 101?) along the prom for the first- and last - time

May I use a bit of bandwidth here to say Thank You to the LTT, and to Paul, for an excellent afternoon spent chasing 240/703/101 from Rigby Road to Bispham to the Pleasure Beach and back to Rigby Road - It sure beats driving a desk on a Monday afternoon.

What a shame we will never see, or get to ride on, her again in Blackpool, but some of the shots obtained today were in the spectacular category!

As a recreation of a Sunderland streamliner she looks superb - a four wheeler is no longer available - so a bogie car it has to be - but she looks very convincing - except for the lime green grab handles on the red panels!

A quick trip to Fleetwood indicates that re-opening to Ash St should not be a vast problem now - all the OLE seems back in place. Lord St is one L of a mess - but the progress looks very substantial - trams to the Ferry next year?

All in all a very good excuse for a pint of Timmy Taylors at the North Euston and fish'n'chips at Bispham Kitchen

    Roll on 125 etc!

    Thanks Frank.
Hopefully the lime green handrails won't be there much longer. The inside of the doors remains green too which grates a bit when they are open. Maybe a coat of brown to match the cabs.
There's an interesting pic below of a derailed 4 wheeler (actually built by SCT as only their bogie car 99 was built by EE). It shows the wheels behind access flaps. Not sure what truck they used on these - drop centre platforms and four wheel trucks are not normally a good match!

As Frank said we really enjoyed our afternoon with you on the unexpected warm afternoon.

We got a short dvd together for our Stalybridge meeting on Tuesday evening and I have put a short You tube together of the afternoon. Enjoy

That's excellent many thanks. Glad you enjoyed the afternoon. This Monday has been positively boring by comparison! VRs are much better to drive than desks.

If the boss gets her way my days driving a desk may be numbered anyway.

I just have to figure out if I can afford my lifestyle without ever seeing one again!
