As so many of you have already commented on, such a shame that something so cruel could happen to such a nice guy, my condolences to the family.

Our DVD trailer to the recent Keighley & Worth Valley Railway gala is now online with a quick look at some of the clips we've gathered over the previous 4 days.

It was a spare camcorder I had, placed the camcorder in place, pressed record and hoped for the best. The camcorder was smaller than my hand and was hidden by the ballast. Got quite a few arty shots which all seem to have worked out really well.

Was the camcorder in the 4 foot then? Lucky you have your film in tact if so.

Yes, and the film came out really well. There was no vibration aswell which was quite surprising. Even the arty shots at the side of the tracks had a little vibration, maybe it's because at this attempt the camera was well stuck into the ground.

In terms of the Gala the event itself went very well, Lots of people about both on and off the train, and plenty lineside. It was encouraging to see lots of families at the event, the raft of Railway Children related news items recently probably helped with this.
Thanks all for the messages about Richard, he will be sadly missed, and the Railways magazine Push And Pull has been pulled from the printers so that a piece to say goodbye to him can be put in.

There is to be a Railway Children event on 1/2/3rd May this year (Sat-Mon) which will feature vintage trains with 957, Nunlow on some shuttles and also doing brakevan rides at Keighley, as well as an XP to create the Scots flyer using either 80002/90733 on the RB set. Normal Prices apply.

The October Steam Gala is Friday 8th - Sunday 10th and it looks as this is the gala when we will have 2 engines visiting (both likely to be tender ones). Those that know me well will already know what we hope these to be.

Just back from a great weekend at the KWVR. Really sad to hear the bad news over the weekend, kind of put things into perspective a little.

The gala was still a great event I even managed to phot and get some trips up and down.

    A couple of pics attached:

Later in the week their is an added bonus coming up, I was down at KWVR again this weekend and on saturday Nunlow was shunting goods wagons, I managed to catch her at Keighley and guessed she was going upto oakwrth goods yard. Nice to see her out on a none gala weekend and didn't see a sole line side all weekend apart from myself.

Just posted another vid on Youtube, this time of 80002 late on the Saturday evening. This train was due to be double headed with 41241, however it had been delayed working the freight, so it was decided to let the 4MT go it alone with the 8 coach load - the normal 6 being increased by 2 ECS. The video takes place in the dark, with just the sound of the Standard and the lights of the countryside. It reminded me so much of the Preston - Liverpool's in the mid 60's with a75xxx. If you think the vid is poo, please let me know, it's not to everyone's taste I know....
