unless of course a benefactor has plaedged the cash to buy 76079 ?

and as a main line registered loco it's ideal for the whitby's plus it saves registering another engine

Sounds a bit like with 75029 a few years back.

Was there a post early in this thread where someone jokingly suggested WCRC were going to buy 76079 and Ian Riley would be getting Galatea, can't seem to find it now.

I wasn't referring to your post I was just referring to the comment I made on wishing for a GWR loco on the Cambrian being completely out of the blue. #-o Sorry if it came across that way.

I'm petty sure that a Manor would get through the platforms at Dovey Junction. If not then I have a feeling it could be one of the things NR look at when working on the line. I'm no expert however. Perhaps someone should go and find out... any volunteers?? \:D/
I didn't realise that LMS 43xxx Mogul's would venture up the Cambrian Coast?

My understanding was it was the Coast platform at Dovey, going to Aber as far as i know is fine, not sure there is a historical precedent for 43XXX's on the route but in mechanical and design terms, the 43XXX & 76XXX are very similar machines.

The only positive sighting I've come across is no 43151 near Pwllheli with an inspection saloon from Crewe in July 1966.
