    Re: Scarborough Flyer July/August

I shall be booking a family day out on this one next week as I missed out last year. A good pool of locos with Lizzy, the Duchess and No9 and a decent length of time at a family freindly destination to boot.

I shall be booking too, good day out, and from Huddersfield a reasonable price. This should help fill the train with joe public as much as enthusiasts. I travelled on it last year with 60009 when it was running well and not on the day it sadly was failed with air brake problems.

    Re: Scarborough Flyer July/August

That is going to take a bit of thinking about. You can only take so much Scarborough

We had a good routine last year - car at Ashton - over to the Head of Steam for tea - steam back to the water stop at Ashton, bail out and give stewards a lift to Stalybridge for their lift home - job done.

Looks like a Stockport to Stockport now - with half an hour at Denton for water, unless we can find a way of leaving a car at Denton and getting to Huddersfield.

I'm booked on 31st trip from Huddersfield. Looking forward to a run behind the Duchess.

The new 6201 LA website (see 6201 thread in Steam Traction) confirms 7/8 and 21/8 as Lizzie's turns on this itinerary.

Denton water stops - not so convenient for doing a part itinerary as last year when I could leave the car at Ashton, have my tea at the Head of Steam, and come back with cinders in me hair.

I'll have to see if they do a two hour limit on car parking at Sainsburys.

I have merged two threads again so it may seem as though this thread seems a bit disjointed...

I wonder how bookings are going, as concerns were expressed on the Fellsman thread (not by me) about the effect of missing out Manchester this year.
