You cant control the natural light available ! Its summer, so with a good fireman and decent coal the exhaust is out of your control. You need to find another reason to beat yourself up LOL! I think its a great pic =D>

If I was a French painter I would have cut one of my ears off!

I'm thinking of making a sign for the summer months which I shall hold up for the drivers.......[IMG]

It's nice to see the whole train and give it a little room to breath in the frames than getting horribly tight and focussed on the loco, looks bang on from a photters point of view if not perfect conditions.

Great trip yesterday. Getting to see 6229 for the first time was impressive to say the least. Though 4003 still the best loco in there :-#

The delays were caused during watering at Milford on both occasions. However on the return the climb out of Huddersfield was something else. We were 31 late off Milford and passed Stalybridge only 4 late though it did help we missed a 14min pathing stop out. Still, hugely impressive display from lizzie and from the coaches we could hear the old girl loud and clear as she climbed her way upto the tunnel.

Thanks to everyone for a memorable trip, and congrats to whoever was celebrating their 65th by getting a go on lizzie. Was it the driver or a member of the support crew ?

Couple of stills from video taken yesterday, two at Lime Street and one from Scarborough. Have to agree with Lil Bear about the run after Huddersfield, we could hear the exhaust at the back of the train!! Anyone know who was driving on the return.Lime St.1.JPG[/attachment:2mpoj8dr]Lime St.2.JPG[/attachment:2mpoj8dr]Scar.3.JPG[/attachment:2mpoj8dr]

It was certainly going well on the return climb up Standedge at Slaithwaite.

    What a great tour.

Steam all the way, a good destination, and a beast of a loco at the business end of things. What more can you want.

A cracking run by 6201 any way, then getting to drool over 6229. \:D/

Well done to all those at RYTC, the loco crews and support crew.

It was Albert Seymore who brought it on to the Heritage Centre last night so it was probably him on the return. However i know Bill Andrews was on it as well at some stage. The general consensus from the Crew last night was that they had had a cracking day and Lizzie performed brilliantly.

    Long day for all

ps it was one of the support teams birthday but i shall let him remain anonymous :-#

Does anyone know if it was his birthday ? on U tube someone suggests he's 65 on the 4th July. I thought he was older. Brian

They are way out, he retires from driving towards the end of this year at I think 75. Looking at the photos and other comments, it appears that he drove out and Albert drove back, I understand that Bill came home on the cushions.

It would be prudent of whoever advertises what turns out to be his last tour to advertise that fact as im sure there will be a few who want to pay respect to thy greatness.

Looking at that clag, it must get interesting on the footplate of Lizzie sometimes; goggles recommended? No wonder they gave the unstreamlined Duchesses smoke deflectors.

I'm sure I've read that Bill Andrew retires at the end of October and so I think does Frank Santrian. If that is the case surely they must be rostered for what will be the Duchess's last run over Shap on 'The Royal Scot' on 10th.October.

David I think few is a slight understatement.. a 11/12 coch train will simple not have the capacity, double heading with 46115 and 17/18 on. :-k
