Nice pictures. Well done to the organisers. But isn't that headboard a little on the large side?

The headboard is exactly the same size as "The Thames Clyde Express" headboard

.... the modern reincarnation of which, I contend, is also larger than life!
Please do it properly ... or don't bother at all!

As someone who clearly remembers the originals there were two sizes used, the earlier ones for steam and a later and slightly larger version used on the Peaks etc that hauled this train in the latter days. The one in question I think is the larger version, but still correct.

Well I think it IS marginally on the large size. Not much, agreed, but just enough for those who remember the original one to notice the difference.

As you are so bothered about doing things properly perhaps you would like to pay for the headboard for the next train , then i am sure it will be the correct size and done properly.
