Two guests...you spoil us! Will Statfold have finished their Austerity by then? Might look a while off but most things seem to take weeks to overhaul there!

Statfold is home to Dub's right hand cylinder at the moment, so they have 1.05 crane tanks on site.

The standard of work carried out is first class. The Austerity will be as new, no stone has been left unturned. I have seen a good number of engines restored over the years but this one has blown me away. It will perhaps be ready by the Autumn.

Time will tell regarding a second engine - as ever we have to take care in order that we bring in a small profit.

Dubs and Glenfield to meet up in steam ?, its going to happen one day !.

Perhaps better waiting for Hawarden and the Dubs to return then have a Hudswell run as Cornist for a major Shelton Bar event?

O come on, I suppose you will be asking for Ludstone to repained in Lincon Green, red rods & wasp strips next. I bet you think Coronation could also return to finish line up ?. No pressure then Finish Dubs & a quick ten year on Hawarden !.

    I like it !.

PS as a lad I watched Dilhorne No3 shunting at Holditch many times, but only saw Cornist in steam once. Yes I am getting old !

Nice poster Rich but I thought it was Backworth no.47 rather than Moorbarrow that was coming...or have the preservation era names been kept?

Won't be joining you at the bar this year but hope to make it at some point over the weekend...new arrival permitting!

No 47 is Moorbarrow. We hope to fablon NCB on the tanks.

The second engine will be static, however it will be a attraction if it comes off. Matt - any news ( PM please )

Oh I thought it was being restored to near NCB condition?

Can we have a poster with its' real number? IMHO Backworth No.47 sounds a lot better than Moorbarrow (whatever that is!)

    Cheers,

Err please DON'T fablon the tanks... the livery is as she carried at Backworth as far as I'm aware bar the nameplates which I understand from the owner are easily removed. She never had NCB on the tank sides when she was blue just like most other Northumberland area locos of the time. She had National Coal Board in full on the tanks when new but she was black then.

All this talk of 'Moorbarrow' and fablon will have to stop if Foxfield expect to keep their ARISE status you know... for crying out loud you'll be calling the poor thing a 'J94' next (even with the outside cylinders!)

47 has now been painted in full N.C.B livery (without it on the tank sides) and is planning to be in steam all month at the lincs wolds to make sure she is nicely run in for her attempts at the hill...

Don't worry P&j we wont be fabloning anything to the tank's although she will run without the nameplates =D> \:D/

P&JR, you must forgive the slightly less well informed amongst us, we are trying our best to educate them but we haven't found a big enough hammer to knock the sense into them yet! \:D/

Now what's this about a street name? :-k

You numpty! You just had to tell them! You just couldnt wait till September could you! \:D/

Mind you, I must say it does look quite good, but we couldnt decide whether it was a Drive, a Lane or a street?

Anyway, back to the Foxfield Gala =D>

If we are being really picky, you've spelt waggon with only one "g"... \:D/ I'm surprised P&JR didnt spot that one, seems as he is the Waggon Spotter amongst us!

Sorry guys, just keeping you at the top of the Gala threads!
