Agreed, Joe Public going on any charter looks for a well turned out train and that starts at the front with a loco that looks the part.

As this is descending into another headboard discussion I was only remarking last night to my better half how good that headboard would look on our wall! Strangely she disagreed...but I do really like it!

The PRCLT headboards have the right idea but, to my mind, are just a bit too big and just a bit too bright. If they were 20% smaller and just slightly less flashy, they'd be spot-on. As it is, they are the wrong side of garish. Shame. B-minus, needn't try quite so hard. (It won't stop me videoing, nor riding on, the trains though.)

Doubtless, it won't prevent most from photographing or riding behind the loco. After all, considering what they have done to 46229, it's now going to be our only opportunity to see a non-streamlined Duchess at work .... and in the condition that most of us remember them!

Bit of a pity, 'though, that 6233 does seem to be adorned with some form of headboard or other every time that it moves.

And, yes, you're absolutely right in your views and everyone I speak to does seem to fully concur with such sentiments ... although I feel 'B-minus' is a rather generous mark to award to the person responsible!
