First of many outings to Norwich with 70013 this year on the 23rd April with Steam dreams. I will be at Trowse I think or my other location near the viaduct, I'll see what the weathers like.
    Timings should be up soon
Anyone on this trip or spotting it?

I watched Ollie C from the platform at Hatfield Perverel on the outward leg. About on time but what a magnificent sight!

Just so impressive compared to the other trains that passed while I was waiting. A real event with a sense of occasion and the smell of steam coal and hot oil lingered for ages...

A magic moment. A big thanks to all that made it happen and shame on me for not being on the train helping to make it continue to happen.

I think the return trip will be badly delayed by signal problems at Marks Tey.There have been some cancellations.

Apparently Cromwell only arrived 10 "ish" minutes or so late whilst service trains were roughly an hour down so may have been shown abit of preference for a change, either way a top effort! =D>

Having photographed the two trips last Autumn, I rode on this one. OC is one impressive engine. On the return we were delayed before Marks Tey but once past the problem we went like the clappers! The planned stop at Witham didn't happen and we took 46 and a half minutes from Marks Tey to Stratford (43 miles) slowing down only in the Shenfield area.
A great run and well done Steam Dreams.

Ah I had here down for leaving at 5.15, I was worried as any later than 5.40pm (I was at Trowse bridge) and I would of had to of left for the bus. But Ollie stormed though at 5.38-9pm. Started to make some great noise just past Trowse station.

=D> Another memorable day out behind OC!.The performance of loco. and footplate crews was superb, especially on the return, due to the delays caused by the signal failure at Marks Tey,we were only a few minutes late back into Liverpool Street. The loco.must have made a fine spectacle storming through the suburban stations on the way back into London.

Just a bit of clarification on this and previous posts -
Departure time from Norwich on TRUST was booked as 1732. This was changed from 1715 after the run last September when the tour was held back to follow 1730 NR-LVST and give the train a clear run at the bank to Lakenham without starting from Trowse Loop across low speed crossovers.

The delays after Colchester were due to vandalism at Chitts Hill near Marks Tey where a signalling able had been cut.

    Cheers, Neil

From an old 50's fireman, thanks for that Col6024. That brought back memories of Stratford and firing the 'OC' into Liverpool St station by the sound of the whistle....magnificent engine. I'll be glad to see The Brittania back on track too.
