I'm struggling to find a timetable for the reopening weekend on the website. Is one available yet? It would be useful in deciding whether to buy a return or stump up the extra for a rover.

There’s no Rover tickets available for the reopening weekend.
From the unofficial Llangollen Facebook page -
Tickets are now on sale for the two public days of our Corwen Opening Weekend! Please note it will not be a B timetable but a 3 train service with hourly departures from each station. The correct service times are shown when you click on the dates.

    https://llangollen-railway.co.uk/corwen-opening-weekend/

    Trains will leave Llangollen at 10:30 (diesel), 11:30 (steam) ,12:30 (railcar) ,13:30 (diesel) ,14:30 (steam) & 15:30 (railcar) and Corwen at 11:45 (diesel), 12:45 (steam), 13:45 (railcar), 14:45 (diesel) 15:45 (steam) & 16:45 (railcar).

Please note that there is not a Rover ticket option.

Ah, thanks Pete. I was thrown by the rover ticket option and pricing being shown on the event page on the website, which is a bit misleading. A shame that there's no option to make a day of it.

I can see what you mean but it does say related events above the Rover and normal day fares (which is a normal Fare Harbour thing which is the booking engine they use). However, if you click on book now for the opening weekend, there is correctly no Rover option.

Yeah, "related activities" followed by Corwen-llangollen and rover tickets didn't scream out to me "not part of this event", and I hadn't gone through the book tickets link as I didn't intend to buy there and then. Cheers for your help though!

We've listened! A day rover ticket option will be on sale on the website from today and also available on the weekend too.

The weather in Llangollen these past two days has been glorious and befitting of the occasion of the Corwen opening. Austin 1 and 68067 had the honour of working the trains.

Tomorrow and Sunday it becomes a 3 train service, with the steamers double heading, the Wickham DMU out and a class 31 in action too.

Somewhat fitting that Austin 1 was on the first train into Corwen. Congratulations to everybody involved, good pieces on BBC & ITV Wales regional news. Hope to visit over the summer!

Video from the first public days services. A very enjoyable day, we had a ride on the first train hauled by the class 31, before returning on the double headed steam service.

Not only was the Kitson pulling the train, but the 2 suburbans that formed the very first passenger train in 1981 were in the set.

Is it just me that feels this is very ironic?

It does in that, had things been different, and had the company had the LRO everything would have been lost, That's why its essential to have strong supporting charities that hold majority share holdings in the companies, to ensure poor management does not endanger the entire railway.

Mildly ironic like the lowest spice level of Nandos. Its a pleasing circularity to me especially given it was so nearly all lost.

Services suspended at Llangollen at 1135 today and refunds given out
However updates from staff were very patchy
There were no mention of problems on their website or facebook page
Only hope this can be sorted out asap

Things were sorted out asap. A signalling issue at Goods junction delayed movements up to Llangollen. The first service left Llan at about midday.

I was crewing 31271 on Sunday and updated both the Unofficial Llangollen Railway Facebook page and Llangollen Diesel Group page with what was going on, when I had chance. So worth joining those groups for gen if you're not on them. I am the Railway's Press Officer but not able to update the website or main page at present. One to look at for the future.

Apologies to those who were left waiting whilst we sorted things out, the first train left Llan just before 12 and we then resumed the hourly service. Both 31271 and 68067 worked two trips, the 4 car DMU 1. Frustrating to say the least, but these things happen and at least we were able to get folk to and from Corwen. At least it wasn't raining!

Arriving at Corwen to a full platform was an incredible site. Thanks to everyone who has supported us getting there and/or came for a ride or look over the weekend. All trains now run to Corwen and our new station is a credit to the small team who have built it. From where we were two years ago to now is hard to comprehend. "Never give in. Never, never, never, never—in nothing, great or small, large or petty—never give in, except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force. Never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy". A bit of Churchill that has run in my mind over the last few weeks.

Were the disagreements about design at Corwen resolved eventually?
