Blue sky and sunshine? All I got was heavy mist, almost drizzle, at Leaton earlier on:

Yep, there was a sunny spell with some occasional cloud lasting about 45 minutes in the Wellington / Telford area around lunchtime. It didn't too last long after the train passed, apparently before the sun appeared there had been 20 minutes of heavy rain.

From yesterday Haughton (yes it was taken outside the fence) and from today a silhouette of the delayed train at Rednal as the sun started to disappear and an arty view from Oakengates.

RMT are striking on Wednesday (along with Aslef) so I doubt there will be any charter movements happening.

Only some RMT drivers at some TOCs (along with ASLEF drivers at some TOCs) are striking, not the TOCs in general or NR. ECML has no GN or Thameslink services but LNER, Hull Trains, Lumo and Grand Central are running as normal, for example.

Thanks for the clarification. I'd made the mistake of watching the news where they said that RMT were striking, and had naively assumed it would be a full strike by NR staff again.

Chance for some rare shots with 5V42 on the up fast all the way? Apparently nothing else on the fast, implying both Avanti and LNW on strike that day.

Isn't it just the regular path for as and when required?

Seems like Wednesday's one has been changed from 95mph to 60mph and times have been altered from the standard daily run.

I guess we'll find out on Wednesday....

Looking at the times, I'd hazard a guess it will have a pilot. Crewe to Acton Canal without water.

Depends if it’s a non stop run or if it’s had to spend time held up somewhere.

And also it's running via the mainline and not via Northampton so fairly rare for steam.
