Same format as last year with steam all the way from Carnforth to Scarborough and back. Again because of operational constraints the trip runs via the "northern route" only.

Thursdays: 06 Jul, 03 Aug, 17 Aug and 31 Aug. Total of 4; there were 3 trips in 2022 and reports suggested that they loaded well so it appears WCRC have responded.

Three of the four run during school holidays, plenty of joining stations, all good for a family trip to the seaside.

They were all reasonably loaded and there was always the option of just going to York and back or just the York to Scarborough return.

There are headings in small print at the top of the page, but it's not immediately obvious that "Railtours" only shows those other than the Dalesman etc. Changing the heading to "Other Railtours" might help.

That messes my plans up for Thursday.

I was planning on going down to see it, despite getting on for something like a three hour journey each way. The old timetable, with the inbound getting to Scarborough about half 12 and the return departing around 5, gave me plenty of time to pop down to Bempton Cliffs for the afternoon to photograph the gannet colony & the other seabirds, including the black-browed albatross for the past two summers.

Arriving at Scarborough at 13.30 and departing again at 16.10 leaves no time to get up to anything during the wait.

I might just save the petrol & miss out on the excellent fish & chips at Seamer.

This is a popular tour being steam hauled throughout, loading is pretty good with 360+ passengers, what is it 260 odd mile round trip?

At a guess whatever leads on the ecs back from Chester tomorrow will probably lead on Thursday.

Edit. Standard led back to Carnforth today so J will be near the front heading for Scarborough with BIL the likely motive power.

That's probably because the number you ring for booking etc isn't WCR but their booking agents who are worse than useless.
Whats the difference in the times, there was a plan to stop at Bootham for water but it now looks as if it's Church Fenton.

Ralph--- can you confirm whether the RTT times are correct? Mrs and I are boarding at York.

WCR office 'has not been notified of any changes'.
