Without being contradictory in any way, I think you'll find the place is Field, from Banff through Lake Louise and down the "Big Hill".
Great shot of a Park car, wonderful thing to travel in, we had the run of one some years ago on the Skeena from Jasper to the coast and back.

Yes, you are correct, it's just the scan from the slide which was wrongly labelled!

Taken a bit earlier and a lot higher.... N202 Kicking Horse Pass 1 June 1981.jpg

What was odd was there were only a few of us in the lounge, so we had freedom to swap sides as we wanted to. I seem to remember the other railfans were from Australia and possibly the Netherlands.

Nice picture, and interesting as well, but surely its in the wrong thread - not a person to be seen:(. It would have gone well in the Rest of the World Picture Puzzle thread.

I know I posted this on another thread but it fits in here quite well - thawing out point work at Grosmont two days ago IMG_6287 copy.jpg

IMG_6489 copy.jpg I hope that this striking picture is allowed. 60 years ago today Bath driver John Stamp took this picture at Shepton Mallet of his fireman Ian Bunnet freezing on top of Bagnall (that a Jinty to you) 47276 while taking water. It had stuck in a snow drift south of the town two days earlier and had just been dug out. It was the start of several days battling the elements up in the Mendip Hills to reopen the Somerset and Dorset line at the start of the severe winter of '63.

A young couple, waiting for the next train to Blackburn from Cherry Tree, get a surprise when 46115 rushes through on a loaded test train in July 2008.
