This was a policy concept thats at least 15 years old in the members mag. If I remember rightly, the plan was two sets of Mk1s and getting rid of the Mk2s (long before the Rogart pair arrived). Are there Mk1s incoming to replace them?

Formerly at Berkley but most recently in Goodman's yard. Spotted south of Newcastle but can't see any suspects posting about it. Could be Tanfield, Aln, North Tyneside or even Scotland.

Privately-owned Wagon Lits carriage No. 3801 has left the Bluebell Railway. The carriage had been in use as sleeping accommodation, owned by a group of Loco Department members, but has now departed for pastures new. I understand that the new owner intends to restore the vehicle. There will be an article on the carriage in the next issue of The Bluebell Times.

I remember being shown round the coach over 10 years ago, and it needed a hell of a lot of work doing on it then...
Good luck to whoever has taken it on. Are you able to disclose where it's headed off to?

I would have dearly loved to buy that but logic suggested otherwise. I'm glad it's got a new home.

January 3 2023 BRW cattle wagon chassis '78' from Llangollen to WSR.

'78' was purchased by the GWR 813 Fund from The SRPS Bo'ness several years ago.
    Photo of chassis at Bo'ness.
It has now moved to Williton along with a chassis and a body owned by another group. 78.jpg

Spotted over on Faceache, the Aberdeen Gas Works Simplex has left the Strathspey and is in the hands of the Bon Accord Locomotive Society who plan to restore it to operational condition. Great news for them and I wish them all the best in restoring it as I seem to recall it being little more than a shell on wheels.

4EPB Trailer Second Open 15396 was moved by road arriving at Swanage Railway's Arne Road road/rail siding on Thursday 9th February 2023.
    http://www.srstock.co.uk/attachments.php?id=23612
15396 was acquired to be dismantled for numerous 'Bulleid style' spare parts to be recovered to be used in the railway's future Bulleid hauled coach restorations.
I wonder if sufficient money was not available to restore 15396 to passenger-carrying condition [in the foreseeable future] and that is why it made it's way southward.
Once 'emptied', I suspect scrap contractors will be called in urgently to dismantle the remains.

Two BR Mark 1 coaches in Green livery with ‘Southern’ lettering in Sunshine-style, heading south on the M6 yesterday, just at the M55 junction.
