One would hope that sympathies do not enter into the equation(s) and that the results align with the better social interests (i.e. that they receive assent).

Further Turntable update with pictures here. There is a suggestion that 'other news' is 'upcomming'. We can only hope that this is something positive.

I'm just hoping that it's not connected with the public enquiry result. :Nailbiting::Nailbiting:

The only allusion to "further news" I can find is relating to the creation of an access road for the engine shed construction.
Incidentally, I dropped in at Robertsbridge the other day. I didn't stick around, as an 8-wheeled tipper was reversing up to the RVR gates, obviously on a mission.
However, I couldn't fail to notice in the carpark around 200 cast concrete blocks, each about the length of a sleeper, but much wider and deeper, (c. 14"× 14"), and each with cutouts x2, approximately standard gauge apart. Anyone got any ideas as to what they may be for? Of course, it might well be NR business, but intriguing, nonetheless.

Don't worry, there will be a couple more governments before that comes out...

It’s the RVR Facebook page, not the blog entry, which says “other news is upcoming” but @Fireline ’s post above seems to make it clear that an announcement about the TWAO is not the ‘other news’ referred to, though we shouldn’t be blamed for hoping it might be.

I suspect the good news is not about the enquiry but is related to the extension to Robertsbridge. And it is good news.

Intriguing :) - although any news from the RVR is, by definition, related to the extension to Robertsbridge.

I hope the news is that there will be another weekend when they run trains as like the terrier time other it seems pointless to have a railway and never run it

The RVR blog has been updated with pictures of groundworks for the Engine Shed which will be a light prefabrcated structure.

Is it my imagination, or have these updates only just appeared? I find the RVR site very confusing, as I often check for updates, only to find several at once, some posted "3 weeks ago", when there was clearly nothing there, unless they follow separate threads.
Anyway, great to see groundwork for the engine shed is in full swing. That would account for my having to dodge one of Bourne's 8-wheel tippers when I swung by Robertsbridge last week.
That's a lot of fill needed. Great that it's coming locally.

Yes the updates have just appeared - so it's not your imagination. I think that maybe they load them in readiness and then release them. The turntable update appeared first but is above the Engine Shed posts in the blog.

Several more blog updates, concentrating mainly on earthworks for the locomotive shed, including this great aerial view which shows the scale of the work necessary, it's relation to the turntable, and progress so far:

Didn't the ground level need to be built up for the near side of the turntable? If the area in front is for the shed, won't that also need to be built up a long way?

Yes, and that's what the picture shows they are busy doing. The embankment for the shed road (parallel to the turntable road) has already been built up on the LHS of the picture, but where the infil is going, is basically the site for the shed, it "just" needs raising by about 15-20 ft first.
