Premier definitely suited the rural light railway look.

The Earl and ZB looked almost 'mainline' in comparison!

Loving all those shots ..... what a wonderful line the W&L is (someone really needs to get an updated portfolio out to film & TV location directors)..... but especially taken with that shot of Premier on goods. Are we absolutely certain they want it back? Is it cruel to ask, did it get to play with those wagons on Golfa?

Enjoyed a fabulous day on the W&L today, first visit for a few years. This really is a a gem of a railway - lovely scenery, friendly staff and some stiff gradients that make locos work. Getting to experience that from one of the carriage balconies is something every steam enthusiast should try in their lifetime!
Hats off also to the P&W department too, the track is immaculate and a lovely smooth ride.

The loco had a varied roster over the 3 days of the Steam Gala Event , for the goods train, Friday saw Premier take the goods to Castle and return to Llanfair, then on the Saturday & Sunday, it worked the Llanfair to Cyfronydd section and return.

Nice to hear confirmation that the manicured look of the PW isn't an optical illusion. :)

There are two bogie hopper wagons, both, I believe, from Romania.

Really small point, but I'm glad to see their ownership proudly announced to the world.

Query: Are there any plans regarding the grounded brake van body prominent in photos (or any other bits'n'bobs surviving from the goods stock)?

The grounded body at Cyfronydd is a former L.N.W.R. 6-wheel brake-van body, there aren't any plans to remove it, altho' it could do with a bit of a fettle to cure the leaking roof.

Was it already there before preservation?

Regrettably they do seem to want her back, which is rather a shame as she was absolutely splendid! And her performance over the whole event was very good indeed. Including some outstanding efforts on the double header on Sunday! And the 3 “zillers” she took to Welshpool on the Saturday evening.

We were all rather taken with her to be honest, she is an absolute credit to the S&K, very much hope she can come back to play in mid wales again .

As great a workhorse as Melior is, it's probably best that Premier's holidays are of short duration, until Superb is back in play. Plus we do have our own gala at the end of this month to attend to...

However, given that Premier has had the vacuum piping built in after her recent restoration, alongside her quite recent popularity, I'm sure she'll return to Wales in the not so distant future.
