Wasn't aware that I was actually criticising anybody -- simply making an observation (or is that now banned on this forum?)

Quite. Indeed the whole secrecy thing seems strange. After all, you'd have thought that they would want to keep us on-side considering all the free publicity that photos on the internet and in magazines can generate.
And, despite certain opinions, we are also prospective passengers.

Well to my shame i have yet to set eyes on 'Guardsman' .

I believe it has and will be working through Newark which is farely close to me here in Lincoln.

It would have been nice to have gone and had a look, but with the organisers playing secrets i wasn't prepared to spend all day on Northgate station just
on the off chance. I don't have my own transport and wild goose chases are really not my thing nowadays.

The organisers, as has been said, don't have to announce anything for this event, but is it really necessary to be so cloak and daggerish..

Some timings for this run were posted a few days ago but they soon disappeared. So I don't think it's a case of people not sharing but a question as to why they were taken down.

Many of us photographing at the Great Central 1960's Weekend knew it would be through Loughborough at 13.34.
the problem was knowing where to photograph the train, Taking advice from the 'locals', I opted for Cossington (Back Lane).

    http://www.penguin-web-solutions.co.uk/images/46115_Cossington_21-3-08_(4568).jpg

Pity there was only a thin haze of of smoke as it was cruising along to Syston North Junction, having crossed over from up fast to slow just a bit further north.

Interesting that it carried the 'Fenman' headboard, which used to be the names train from King's Lynn to Liverpool Street.

I don't get it! The timings don't belong to WCRC and like any other TOC are available to view via TRUST. So why were they taken off this site and by who?

Also for the record some WCRC staff are fantastically co-operative on other gen groups and long may it continue.

    Regards,

46115 was running roughly 1hr 10minutes early at Whittlesey this morning. Thought I'd let people know for those who plan to head out this afternoon to see it returning to Carnforth with the ECS.

    Regards, MT

I didn't even know it was coming back today, i was over at the Keighley Worth Valley and got a text saying it was due through at 16:07 so caught the bus back down to Keighley and it had already gone through at like 15:58 according to Mr Pilsworth, thanks for keeping me updated btw.

Never mind, some great shots out there.

Now that's what I call a classic Scot photo, with the bonus that you can't see the awful fake liveries on some of the Mk1s.

Yep, the dull weather took the colour out of everything, now if it had been a day earlier................

It was going like stink though, someone must have been on a promise! ;-)
