Overheard several comments regarding the steep Mid-Hants prices at the West Somerset today. Namely that the West Somerset was considered better value and they got the business. Must admit I would agree at £40, although Mid-Hants is a fraction too far me so merely hyperthetical. Loadings seemingly good at West Somerset and were excellent (almost record breaking) at the SVR a fortnight ago - price galas right and people will still come. However, in the current climate people will get increasingly choosy, me included I'm afraid.

Depends where you live though doesn't it? Mid Hants for me is 100 mile round trip, Severn Valley 250, West Somerset 300. So, even if Mid Hants is £5 more per ticket its more cost effective.

Mid Hants has the better reputation lately as well.

I’m sorry but in reality it isn’t actually that practical, especially if the same thinking is subsequently applied to other old threads (this wasn’t the only thread to be resurrected).

The vast majority of members usually realise that it’s an old thread.

I can count on one hand (from thousands and thousands of posts over the years) the times something like this has happened, usually by accident or because they are new to forums (which is okay).

I can't help but wonder if on this occasion it's something a bit more odd than that though. Almost like an AI bot!

Yes that thought had crossed our minds.

It will be easy to see as we have far easier and effective methods to deal with that kind of thing.
