Thanks Shep, it was well worth getting up at silly o'clock for it.

BZ, indeed - from one who has put quite a lot into the planning of this year's jaunt but so far hasn't been within 100 miles of any part of it!

Joined the train at Chester just for the run down to Shrewsbury and had to sit in the brake, behind the 2 support coaches. The sound of 1 Jubilee roaring up Gresford Bank is awesome but there were two . The timer reported a minimum of 49 on the bank and quite a few miles in the low 70s after Wrexham. A nice sample of two enthusiastic drivers enjoying their work, I had to leave the train at Shrewsbury as the next platform stop would have been Cardiff. o_O

Leaving Shrewsbury but with that signal box in the shot did I really need to give the location?

I know that some timers have a problem with double headed steam. Not quite certain what it is but to my mind if it adds to the experience and makes it a little easier on locos and crews I really don't see what the problem is all about. The Welsh Borders leg proves that, and some.

Here's my footage of the two Jubilees roaring along the Welsh Marches Line at Leebotwood on the approach to Church Stretton today. I hope you enjoy the video.
