I strongly suspect so as the stock is setting off from Carnforth to Grange for tomorrows leg at 0359 tomorrow morning.

With the rather strange running of the stock tomorrow morning (via reverse at Askam) I do wonder whether as on a previous occasion the Grange to Carnforth leg may find itself with a diesel on the front?

There are these moves at Carnforth around the time the train stops on its way from Grange to Chester, would this signify a loco swap?

There are people who go out with a camera and there are people who go out with a camera and either make sizeable financial contributions to the heritage railway movement of spend much of their remaining spare time doing the hard graft in keeping the wheels of steam moving. I think the them and us argument was debunked long ago.

The Scot and Leander were side by side at Carlisle just south of the station for the loco change. A lovely scene.

The journey down to Carlisle was scenic but little else. Things look more promising for the coastal leg.

It sounded good near the front, but at the break in Carlisle, a passenger in dining near the middle, complained that all he could hear was the 47.

Can’t say if the 47 was helping at Crawford as it flashed passed us that fast .
