    Hi,
There's a rumour going round that 46115 is to work a WCRC "birthday special" from Kings Lynn to Melton Mowbray
on March 21st. ECS paths and the tour itself are in TRUST but no motive power specified yet. Anyone know anything about this? Knowing the secrecy that seems to surround 46115 I doubt WCRC will be spilling the beans themselves.

Think of a railtour opperator in that area (thats who maybe having the birthday) and why the Q of S went north last week.

Anyone able to provide timings for the loco/ecs move from Carnforth? Thanks.

The railtour operator is fairly easy to guess but knowing David Smith's love of wrong footing enthusiasts it wouldn't surprise me if this turned out to be Class 47 hauled.
If it is 46115 then I can see my shop opening a bit later than usual on Saturday.

Any further news on this working? Is 46115 in steam today?

@5944 - can I ask why you removed the times? Do you know whether they have changed?

I suppose we will know for sure if the ECS runs tomorrow. Is there anyone in the Ely area that could check what is in Ely yard tomorrow evening?

If it does run (big "if"), can anyone recommend a good video location between March and Peterborough? What's Whittlesey like? I suppose it's too much to hope for signal boxes and proper semaphore signals, isn't it?

Whitlesea (to use the station spelling) has a manual box, semaphores and proper crossing gates so will be a good location. For other locations in the area I suggest a visit to http://www.trainspots.co.uk/. It lists a few locations on that stretch of line.
A mate of mine is off out for the ecs tomorrow so he'll report back once he's seen it and then we'll know what's on the front.

It would be better if he would report the times beforehand

Carnforth to Lynn is a long run - and already paid for - so why the M15 nonsense???

David has a record of winding up gricers. Remember the "Thomas" face on 48151 a few years ago on a run along the Cumbrian Coast? So to keep people guessing as to will it, won't it be 46115 would be right up his street.

One way or another I have had contact with the business for almost thirty years now - and share a great deal of their outlook, but this cloak and dagger stuff is just so unnecessary

    Mr G,
You obviously don't have the right contacts.
Anyone seen this on the move yet?

Appears to be roughly on time. I'm off out to see it at Newark and probably Hundred Foot Drain later, while my dad is chasing it and should see it at Retford, Grantham and Peterborough, assuming it all goes to plan.
