Not sure if I can make this gala at the moment. How long will 2999 be at the Severn Valley ? Are there any plans to use it on ‘normal’ running days ? Thanks in advance for any help

Looking good with what has been announced.
Is a “Big 4” theme possible?

In the sense there's something from each of the Big Four running, yes. But I would be surprised if anything else is announced as visiting.

The Saint will be staying at the SVR for a while after the gala. I'm not privy to exactly how long but with Pendennis back in steam Didcot don't require 2 large 4-6-0s for current operations

    Tickets bought, hotel booked.
Are the timetables ready yet? Need to book rail tickets.

Soon I think to the public, I've just had an email from a roster clerk saying they have recently received it.

That's certainly what it says, in which case it's disappointing. Still well worthwhile of course for the S15 the black A4 the scenery stations etc, but the timetables of SVR galas got rather processional and repetitive from about 5 or 6 years ago.

Indeed, as you say, still well worth going, and I shall be, but a definite disappointment. A pre-nationalisation loose coupled goods set is a rare thing in preservation, and it does sadly seem to be less of a certainty at SVR galas than it used to be. Especially with no photo charters any more, it'd be a shame if even galas it only had an occasional, small outing.

If correct about the goods, the coal situation may well lie behind the decision to keep it to a minimum.

On the positive side, all three guest locos and the Austerity are in use on all four days (no 'preview day' as we've had on some galas in the past), with the Austerity working solo on the local on two of the four days.

Surely the highlight is the Austerity on full line workings and solo? Everything else is just a sideshow!

I believe coal supplies was the reason the goods was withdrawn from the Open House weekend
