Yes, Pete, most fire authorities, particularly rural, have paramedic trained staff and have certain apparatus and equipment for that purpose.
I was sent to an ambulance HQ for my training but it was in its infancy in the early 1980;s.

News can be rather slow to get to South Wales… In 1966 there was a link to unite it with Northern France that was closed down.;)

Good to see Minehead is back on the railway map with the opening of the new level crossing at Seaward Way:

And behind the Calley tank, is an class of engine that spent most, if not all of its working like in the west country, the LSWR T9, Padstow, Wadebridge, Okehampton, Plymouth, Ilfracombe, all these locations, were once served by Southern Engines, and were as much a part of the Railway scene in the West, as their GWR counterparts .

If you read the post I was quoting, you'd have seen it says...

53809 has never been blue and has never been based at Washford.

I must have been imagining the 7F 2-8-0 in Prussian Blue, and running with the number 88. I assume the reference to 53809 is a typo, seeing that its never been a WSR based loco.
