A minor miracle happened today - I actually made it to a Gala - my first since I don't know when. It was marvellous to see the railway looking so good and a really good show put on for the paying public. My favourite moments were 46100 coming up Keighley bank with the merest of tiny little slips but soon becoming a majestic 3-cylinder symphony, and I finally bagged Bahamas after all these years - I must have had a footplate or brake van ride at Dinting but that was so long ago....
Nice to see plenty of folk out as well, busy but not too busy, decent weather (especially when the keen breeze relented) and I picked up a couple of really nice books at Ingrow West.
My thanks to one and all for putting on a really good gala. Fingers crossed it won't be so long till I['m back.

My video and a few photos from the weekend. An enjoyable weekend as per usual at the Worth Valley, looking forward to the next one!

A new video from the gala. This time it is Bahamas' departure from Keighley on Friday morning. As you can see, it was a bit of a struggle. Huge respect for the driver here. Expert enginemanship!

Patience bringing it's own reward there. If I remember right the gradient there is 1:50-ish and there's a check rail as well with the tight curve so it's a fair test of enginemanship.

And here's my next video. The Pannier was on the 10am departure on Friday. It was a really impressive performance!

The second carriage in the suburban set - is it a suburban open or is it an ex-DMU centre car?

This is a Suburban Open not a DMU railcar; part of an ex-Kings Cross suburban rake IIRC.

Part 2 of my run behind the Pannier at the gala. Oakworth to Haworth section was a particular highlight!
