119s were built by "23 August" Bucharest Locomotive Works, 56s were built by Electroputere. Same country, but built by different companies about 150 miles apart. So to what Fred suggested, I suspect very little was common except the country of origin and wheel arrangement. It'd be like comparing 4Fs and Collett Goods.

I forgot they had been renumbered at unification .I new them as 219 s, a photo attached of several on Schwerin Shed on 16/10/1994. Also a photo of a 228 ex class 118 on Zittau shed ,07/11/1994.Its the only photo' I have of one of them ,they were thin on the ground in 1994,wholesale scrapping .They were built at Karl Marks Babelsburg.GDR .Both classes were of course Diesel Hydraulics.

Not sure about Falcon, but the other 3 classes you’ve mentioned owe they’re design to Wilkes and Ashmore who were industrial designers, there’s a bit about them here https://collection.sciencemuseumgroup.org.uk/people/ap189/wilkes-ashmore

The last Class 47s were released in 1968 (D1960 in November 1967; D1961 in May 1968) and the first Class 56 arrived in July / August 1976, although many required re-working and weren't accepted until 1977.

I like, looks a lot better than the large logo on number 2.

Yeah, GBRF livery works well on a number of locos (thinking of 50007/49). The retro liveries often look slightly off.

I like the speed whiskers on the cab, it’s a nice little embellishment.

Looks OK, albeit in my opinion the speed whiskers would look better if they extended across the cab doors.

I assume if this livery theme is to be continued 69003 will have a Romanian flag on the side...

Would be nice to see them all lined up together somewhere, could make for an interesting photo.

I thought the purpose of putting work out to Craiova was about the ability of UK factories to deliver in time.

Have to say I don’t think it looks bad. Looking forward to the variations on the other 5.
