yes it was a poor timetable, Deltic batteries were flat i believe so missed the freight working. I am disabled i have to use a walking stick and had to stand in the guards compartment, as no seats available, and rude passengers telling me i cannot go in thee compartment even though it was half empty and so many people not wearing masks as well,
decided this was not for me for a round trip so got off at Quorn, total let down.

anyway 4 poor quality phone videos, stills tomorrow
Not the best quality videos mainly done on my phone just to see how they looked

A few hours at the GCR today including a visit to Mountsorrel to see the former Snibston exhibits and a welcome bacon bap from the cafe which was doing brisk trade

Sun shone for a little bit which was most welcome too

My compilation from the event yesterday. Although not a great event for passengers it seems (from what other's have said here anyway), it was pretty good on the lineside, even with the fog making things more complicated. Compared to some Gala's, there wasn't too long a wait between trains for this. Then again, this was my first time filming at the GCR, so I'm not quite used the way they are able to do things differently compared to other railways, such as double track scenario.

Some people said that the only train you could ride Tornado on the Saturday was the 1110. However the Fish and Chip train (1830) only used the first 4 coaches for diners. The other 4 were apparently taking normal passengers? Either way, I hope anyone wanting to get behind it one last time did.

A fitting theme to see Tornado out, the final clip of the day seeing it depart Loughborough and head into the night on the Fish and Chip train fitted well with the theme of East Coast steam on its final days with the Deltic on its way to take over.

Hi Neil, sorry to hear about your experience, please do contact a member of staff (ideally the guard or TTI) if you experience such treatment from other passengers again. I would expect any of them to assist you in finding a seat onboard.

You know you don't need to post on every gala thread dated over a year ago right? ;)
