In fairness to CoT fan, their idea is basically what Jeremy Hosking is currently doing in Margate, just probably not on the more unrealistic scale they're imagining with their idea.

Has anyone seen it? It’s to big to hide what it is so do anyone actually know this is what’s happened yet? If it’s a trick it’s a really bad one and tricked a lot of people

I think both would be too big to hide! There could be some mileage in this...

Seriously though, the first report of it being Hogwarts castle was when it was on a lorry tarped up heading to Southampton after being painted and prepped, if nobody got a photo of the tarped load during the trip then. Im guessing security at the docks would prevent a photo there and regardless its still tarped
Im guessing currently its on a ship heading to Tokyo

Honestly you might get a tarped photo when it arrives, but more likely they wanna keep it under wraps so more likely when the exhibition opens

Thing is there is so much conjecture on this thread its becoming difficult to decipher what's fact and what's speculation. Once again WCR seem to have miraculously moved a 4-6-0 by road the length of the country and no one seems to have noticed (much as they did when they moved her up to Carnforth), no one seems clear as to whether WCR bought her and sold her on or merely acted as contractor, apparently a huge number of parts have been removed but gone where is a mystery (if it is the FRT they have been very quiet about it, which is odd as it would be a masive step forward for 4979!) and all manner of accusations have been made regarding what happened in Devon before the sale?

Someonw on an industrial railways mailing group said their friend saw a red engine, tender and two carriages on the road in December and said friend claimed it was the new P2 Prince of Wales. It was pijted out that the P2 has yet to be completered. Someone else suggested it was Dumbleton Hall on he move with the coaches. I know which I'd put my money on

There is no proof and until is a proof I am going to say it’s not gone to Japan. I think in years time it will be on the mainline as a surprise overhaul but then they might just put the names on another one as they’ve done that before

I just had a thought, , Yes I know, my doctor often warns me about having thoughts, not good for my mental health apparently, but do Warner Bros actually own the loco,? might it just be on loan to them, Its really just a prop in a show, and when the popularity starts to wain, it can be shipped back, Would Warner pay out a lot of money for a prop, when they could hire it?
At the moment CRSS don't need another class 5 loco, indeed i would say with the exception of maybe some welsh routes, that are restricted, much of their work now seems to require class 6 or above . so its earning income, just as I would imagine the other red hall does, and one day, unless former GWR 4-6-0'S just can't fit the modern network, both may return to steam.

Must have disguised it as a Black 5 on the low loader, so noone would be interested in it.

I saw it on a low loader, but what with all GWR locos looking indistinguishable, plus 50 tons of metal having been chopped off simply by removing the back ten feet of the loco, I distinctly remember what I saw was a 4-4-0 and so just thought the County new build had made rapid progress…
