    Hello, does anyone know if NXEA are doing any 47 drags this year?

    I don't "know" but consider it extremely unlikely unfortunately. NXEC usually use HSTs for diversions and, if there were any electric sets being hauled over non-electrified routes, then EWS/DBS would almost certainly use Class 67s. EWS/DBS do have Class 47s back on their Safety Case for Compass railtours (I think) using Riveria Vlass 47s but I think it very unlikely they would ever be used on drags.

    I think he means the Skegness stuff? I haven't heard anything if that's what you mean?

    Actually he's asking about NXEA (East Anglia) which I guess means Norwich - Great Yarmouth drags and possibly Lowestoft for the Air Show. Colin.

    The Yarmouth drags usually attract a class 47 for the Norwich - Yarmouth leg when running, hence the interest.

    According to posts on wnxxforum.net DRS will be taking over the Thunderbird duties on NXEA from Monday, replacing Cotswold Rail/Advenza.

    Likely still be be 47/8's, i suppose hoping for them to burst so a 37/6 produces is asking too much......:D

    Answers the question of why DRS has been aquiring so many ETH loco's of late.

    You never know,if they do it next year!

    Neither Skeggy nor Yarmouth are nice,i'd rather go on hols to Grimsby lol
