Do you have any other solution? The aim of this trip is to raise money and I’m sure it will achieve that. It’s certainly a lot more than a Surrey Hills trip

You continue, obtusely, to assume I'm complaining, which I've made it abundantly clear several times I'm not, so I think I'll move on.

Thanks for that - I imagine it's much easier to lock up without the added brake force of a train behind, but even so that seems like harsh driving. I have nothing to back that up, but in leaf fall season I would have expected extra caution while braking a light engine. Just my uninformed opinion, though.

Not an unreasonable uninformed opinion, but I have it on good authority that it was being driven below line speed and was approaching the red signal at low speed at the time. Unfortunately the combination of light rain and leaves on the railhead made for some awful running conditions.

Clan Line seen attracting the crowds as always at Addlestone, and climbing Gomshall bank at Shere Heath, with Black 5 44871 featured on RTC's Cheshireman run this morning:

Well I'm glad my assumption was wrong and the driving wasn't at fault.

At Hooley amid bursts of sunshine, entering the very deep cutting leading to Merstham tunnel. The 67 was humming but I couldn't tell how much assistance, if any, it was providing.

I enjoyed seeing 'Clan Line' steam through Otford last night. -very atmospheric! It didn't sound like the 67 was doing much :)
Thanks to all involved who made the tour happen!

The 67 wax only there for insurance as it’s leaf fall season so it was almost certainly only ticking over

Another WCRC operation for the MNLPS! Clan Line is doing one of Steam Dreams Santa and Christmas Steam express days, on Tuesday 14th December. First time in 10 years since she's been with Steam Dreams I believe.

It is true, it’s big challenge for the all volunteer working members and support crew. The loco has to be serviced turned round and presented as everyone expects in just three days after it’s Belmond trip on the 11th

I’m not on it, so I’ll be out for it too! I’m on today’s Belmond. It’s a cloudless sky so you need to get down to S London

Sunshine at Shere today was brilliant, couldn't say no to a photo! Captured at the now closed foot crossing on today's Belmond, video below.
