Guessing Tornado is probably going to be held for the same issue as 6233.

Everything on the Marches at a standstill. Cardiff-Holyhead terminated at Hereford.

    From National Rail Enquires -
"A person has been hit by a train between Shrewsbury and Hereford and as a result, all lines are closed. Trains between these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised.

    This is expected until 13:00."

Just posted this on the VT thread but wondered if as Little Red Train is at Craven Arms you have any idea where the incident occurred. The tannoy at Hereford said Ludlow but I can’t find any trains stopped there on RTT. Thanks

Yes, my dad is on it and wasn’t best pleased there is no way off for a leg stretch, although it can’t be helped. There nothing much else to report apart from they now sat waiting to hear what is going to happen.

We were told Ludlow as well.
Rumour (and I must stress this is only platform gossip) is that a service train spotted a body but was not involved.

Nearly one hour at Humberstone Road Leicester on the outward, arrival time back at Kettering just before 7 pm, normally steam specials are usually some 2 hours later. No wonder times are a bit limited at York. Platform 2 stop booked for Kettering outward , only 6mins or so, it looks like Brent curve to Leicester for water.Non stop Barrow Hill to Kettering coming back. Its via Mkt Harboro' in both directions, I make it 13/12/2016 the last time steam went via Harboro' and that was with the Dutchess ,northbound only.Timings between Kettering and Leicester look a bit tight, but coming back its the other way round, booked plenty of time between Mkt Harboro' and Kettering North jnc, so it comes in behind a Corby to St Pancras EMU on Plat 1 for water.

Clouds and silver linings and all that !
Tornado and The Cheshireman between Hencote and Leaton, over two hours late after waiting at Shrewsbury for the preceding TfW train to clear Gobowen.
The closure of all signal boxes between Croes Newydd and Shrewsbury apart from Gobowen has reduced the capacity of this line dramatically.

    I love that landscape shot.
Presumably it involves a steep climb, so I guess not possible for a 75 year old carrying around 5 Kg of equipment?

I'm 68 soon, but for me it is quite do-able, it's possible to drive reasonably close via the lanes to Acton Scott and walk the few hundred yards to Ragleth Hill. It is quite steep in places, but I'm sure that you can make it. I actually climbed it twice today, as the train was VERY late......

The photo was taken from about halfway up, so no need to scale the dizzy heights of the top. It is worth doing tho' as the views are spectacular and you can watch the train all the way from Craven Arms.

Here's Oliver Cromwell at the same place with a wider view.
