    Came across this looking for some info on a photo;

    Is this the world record for numbers of one class preserved?
    … and we think we have a lot of Panniers, Bulleids and Stanier 5mts!

    There were a lot produced. :) And really only two are operational (a third runs on compressed air and the fourth is described as semi-operational)

    By way of comparison there are what 80+ 08s preserved?

    The BR 52s from Nazi Germany easily beat it in terms of operational locomotives.

    I reckon there are around 230 preserved Chinese SYs.
