Just seen the SDR posting that L92 (5786) is off to Chinnor until September.

The loco roster only mentions 5542 until the end of July.

Have they made an error, has something happened to 5542?

Making it my mission to visit Chinnor, for the first time, in 2019.

L92 appears to have dropped off the loco roster. Is Chinnor now diesel only?

L92 is reported on the railway's Facebook page to be returning to the sdr due to problems with the boiler tubes

Is it possible to run a heritage railway without a steam loco?

Yes, but some people won't visit it.

Seems they are running diesel only at the mo.

Agreed steam adds an extra draw, but it isn't the be all and end all.

5526 in service from Sunday as the pannier replacement - fear not, worriers about lack of steam! Makes the SDR down two overall though I presume unless they can get the pannier sorted

Is 5526 remaining for the rest of the season?

A carriage has been placed on a short piece of track right in front of the webcam at Princes Risborough (noticed it in the early hours of this morning when I finished work). Not connected to the running line by the looks of things. Does anyone happen to know where it’s come from & what it’s likely to be used for please?

    Many thanks

    Ben

Some one else asked on a FB page about that ex. DMU vehicle.

While looking up on the carriage register as a consequence, it looks like the railway is now home to a number of extra Mark 1 carriages from the Elscar Railway. Part of the fleet or just for storage?
