The svr management have asked for all viewpoint to be directed to them . They do not review nor read any of the unofficial groups nor forum so to hold them to account that anger needs to be channeled directly to the railway

I think it depends on the intent, if it is about serious engagement and personalised responses then direct email and responses will be a good step in rebuilding some relationships.

If it is about shutting down discussion then they will disappear into the ether, there will be no response or at best 'we are sorry you feel that way' type response. But if it is the latter then that would only alienate people further so would be self defeating.

I flagged the level of anger from the facebook group and this was the response . Credit that it was done quickly . Now to every shareholder who is unhappy with the decision or the communication , now is the time to make your feelings known directly to the railway . In all honesty the more that write in the better. I need to galvanise every unhappy shareholder . I can also help with a template as well . Please be civil and clear in the points made

I agree entirely. Whilst I normally regard said individual as level headed and fair it is quite clear that on another thread his position as moderator is at best questionable.

What is the difference between hot air on face book and hot air which you yourself regularly contribute to at times in extreme ways, despite being a moderator there, on the WSR thread of this site?

I think we should be told.

Really terry , I credited you with more than this . The svr gm has asked for all complaint to go to the railway directly , so I am merely encouraging those who express their frustration on the group and forums to go direct. The svr have indicated a willingness to listen in a way the wsr never have . The wsr have never asked for any such feedback if anything they have sought to suppress all discussion

    Just also to assist you

The SVR hasn't booted out a long standing member of the family , the WSR has
The SVR GM is experienced at managing successful heritage attractions , The WSR GM's transport business had its operating licence withdrawn
The SVR presided over the most successful fund raising appeal through covid , the WSR emergency appeal for a £1m has stalled at under £40k
The SVR has not had years of internal warring factions , unlike the WSR
The SVR has delivered a major infrastructure project (falling sands ) on time and as planned . The WSR still hasn't crossed the road

The SVR has asked for views to be shared directly , the WSR wanted this thread deleted

On the subject of secondary spend, when the HRA did a survey of InterRail card holders in 2018, the average secondary spend was just under £13 per visitor (across all railways). I would expect SVR shareholders to have a similar secondary spend (or more since they've already demonstrated a supportive attitude to the SVR by becoming shareholders).

Martin. Can I ask, who is the "I" who said they would respond. Is it the GM or one of the other Directors?

A U-turn because it was something they were previously resisting, particularly in the case of the gala it had already been announced they were doing it pre-booking fixed itinerary only, and now it's not. Management listening to feedback from supporters eh, it'll never catch on...

The gala(s) part is, as they had been announced as per the spring gala style.
While the reinstatement of 'hop on hop off' for normal days had been raised a few weeks ago, there was no mention of the galas being so. In the fact the opposite.
