For those that knew him, a message on Facebook says that the ashes of Dave Rodgers will be conveyed over Ribblehead on the tour of the 8th. The annual reunion to mark the end of BR steam takes place the same day at the Station Inn, Ribblehead so a chance to raise a glass in Dave's memory.

Got to leeds city station a good start so far 35018 arrived leeds at 10:36 and we have just arrived in Hellifield 9 mins down at 12pm apart from the wet weather on the Dale's a nice steady run, expecting it to be a fairly slow run up the long drag with wet rails. Ile post my pic later.

A fine day out with a fine machine. Conditions dictated a 'let the locomotive find its way' approach up the hill northbound. 11 on. While the speedometer was bouncing around a bit, 35018 seemed to have a no-fuss climb of Ais Gill southbound. While not timing things to the second, by my watch we left Appleby around 18:34, and passed Garsdale at around 19:04. We had a good run to Hellifield, and had a nice high speed sprint into York to arrive around a minute early.

Just received E-ticket for Sunday. Looks like it's BIL again, which I'm very happy with.
(I haven't seen her since she was just a hulk in the workshop at Ropley!)

Apparently there was a technical glitch when they sent out the tickets yesterday and some people (including me) didn't receive them, so they've re-sent them.
So if you're expecting one and still haven't received it, I suggest contacting RTC.

A break in the cloud cover on Micklefield bank illuminates the train but eliminates the exhaust trail that had been evident in the duller background.
