Unusually there were two tours leaving March this morning (both all called at Peterborough also).
The RTC trip was due to last nearly 15 hours left at 0734 and featured the S & C both by steam and gave passengers 2 hours in Carlisle.
The Statesman trip to Weymouth (T &T 47's) left at 0527 for a 16 hour day and was due to give 1 hour in Weymouth although late arrival cut that to about 45 minutes, plus as it was chucking it down in Swanage probably was at Weymouth as well.
Both tours are due back to March at 2211 and 2228 and both are currently running behind schedule. Sometimes these tours are trips of endurance, especially as neither actually started at March.

Is the return leg of the Pennine L.T.D. late cos of a late departing service train out of carlisle southbound or is there a issue with 46115 after departure off carlisle?

46115 at a very soggy Helwith Bridge and a sunny Birkett Common.

Fortune favours the brave Steve. Today looked like a write off. But that's the S&C for you.

Despite the atrocious weather conditions No. 46115 'Scots Guardsman' puts on the style as it climbs the ramp away from Helwith Bridge in charge of 'The Pennine
Limited' with David Blair driving, Craig Todd on the shovel and Roly Parker Guard

    PL Scot 4b.jpg

Still no let up in the weather at Aisgill as 'Scots Guardsman' works the return 'Pennine Limited' towards the summit with Chris Cubitt driving, Steve Clark on
the shovel and Roly Parker Guard

46115 not sounding to good in horrendous conditions at Helwith Bridge and in brilliant sunshine at a deserted Birkett Common.

Excellent. That middle section head-on at Birkett is pure magic.

Well that was sure some long day for the stewards 18 hours 45 minutes Norwich to Norwich. Beats my longest stewarding trip by 15 minutes. Plus some of those stewards also did the DCE on Thursday (a mere 13 hours 30 minutes) not counting any travel time they may have had on top of that.
    I salute them!
