Hmmm... wonder what the visiting loco is? Described as 'unusual second visiting engine of a type that hasn't been seen at Didcot for many years' and 'expected to make an appearance on a goods train.' Could it be Blue Circle (currently based at Wansford, where 4144 is visiting)? Haven't been to Didcot since moving back up North, so will definitely try and make it down for one of these days.

You'll likely receive a rough timetable on the day of your visit. Normally for the first hour its on shed/prep photo opportunities.

Yes, I just got back from there and although not what I would call crowded, it was apparently a sell out. A great show as usual from Didcot. Nice to see the diesels (08 and Class 14) get a turn at the end of the day too.

6046 was performing well and at Didcot courtesy of a film crew who paid for the transport so they could film with it last week. Only cost to GWS is daily steaming fees. Due to return to Churnet next week I believe.

Labton No.29 also going well, but the star of the show has to be Trojan, with a lively performance with 3 coaches on the branch line.

According to the loco roster 6046 will be in use, along with Trojan, on Wednesday and Thursday.

An excellent day at Didcot today. 4079 moved out into the sun by 1340 which worked the afternoon branch trains, D9516 in the morning. 29 (morning) and 2999 (afternoon) on the Oxford Road line. Pathetic GWR could not even run their reduced timetable with many cancellations and much late running so spent a lot of time at Reading between trains but it didn’t spoil our enjoyment of the Didcot event
