    Swansea was indeed sold to Keith Rose. We thought to a better future at Embsay but discovered after the sale that it was not to be. MD&HB was only ever bought as a source of spares for Swansea (AE 1569/1909) after all its ferrous bits were stolen by scrap thieves. Initially, it was thought that 'Swansea' originally ran on the Swansea & Mumbles Railway but later research proved that not to be the case, the 'Swansea' there being a different Avonside. AB 1569 came from the Bynea Steelworks.
