I would be very surprised if things aren’t back to normal by September.
All UK adults should have been offered a vaccine by then.

Fingers crossed, that’s what I hope. I don’t know whether that will happen before the Aberdonian on July 25th which I’m booked on but I now sort of believe it is realistic it could happen in time for what could be one of the best events of the Preservation era.

It depends what you mean by 'back to normal'. My guess is that additional precautions may still be in place by then. Could be capacity issues, movement issues or hygiene issues. What I think we can be certain of is that something will be running although at what ticket price remains to be seen.

These tours should be postponed if they are not able to run at full capacity as this is a once in a while event.

There not be chance to for some time though, we’re still waiting for the 2 Brits to work together on either a tour or heritage line.

Can't see anything other than the Social Distanced restricted numbers in carriages for the whole of the year unless something remarkable happens and Covid-19 peters out. Can't see how prices can be held down. Logic says they should rise by at least a third, if not more as seat losses under the 2m rule that Boris and SAGE say isn't negotiable will be high. In October last on the CME our booking for 4 took up the 'eight across' in the TSO; 50% occupancy. Tough times for the promoters.

That’s what I think hence why these tours should be postponed to some time in 2022 when hopefully they could run at full capacity. The best case scenario for a full capacity tour is Spring or Summer next year.

I'm also booked on this tour and originally was going to go on the 2020 Dec date but switched my booking to this MarchWell its 50 , 50 the E.F. could run in March, but its saying schools open on 8 then on 29 March on the B.B.C. 6 people or 2 households are allowed to meet by that date, and the lockdown is going to be eased in four stages this been the 1st and then gyms and outdoor hospitality on 12 April If the E.F. can run in Christmas 2021 I would rather wait for more people in U.K. and globally to be vaccinated. and just hope that mainline tours can resume in April onwards. Hope this helps

Sam I would guess that these tours are full to “Covid” capacity and not normal 100% occupancy. I don’t think they’ll be needing to Chuck people off and suspect if anything more seats will be available nearer the time!

(complete guesswork; happily corrected but it would be the logical way to work).

Ludicrous optimism as far as I’m concerned. I strongly suspect a very different tone in the rest of the UK.

From what I read it as, it is hoped to lift restrictions by the 21st of June, still unsure of what we can do at work which is bloody frustrating.

Get them while there hot seats still available on the Pennine explorer 22 May from Leicester Carlisle return 60163 on at Hellifield out off at Chesterfield Ret according to the A1.S.L.T. Facebook page this tour is running as planned cos of the easing of the lockdown restrictions stage 3 on 17 May. But also all A1 tours before 17 May have been cancelled and redated for later this year hopefully.
