I personally am looking forward to several items of stock arriving on the Mid Hants in the not too distant future.

Ypu would be surprised by how much space there is when we put our minds to it....besides there will shortly be a new siding at Alresford.

I would indeed be very surprised!
The line immediately east of Alresford station is in a deep cutting, The cattle dock siding is required for loading/unloading Loco's /stock, West of Alresford, there are already three sidings plus a spur towards the down platform.
As I see it, If all the stock left Washford for the MHR the only places I can think to store it is either in the sidings west of Alresford or the meon sidings between
Alton and the old Butts Junction, not an ideal location.

I'm hoping for a few nice vans, the S&DRT have some nice LSWR and SR ones. There was a lot of interesting shunting at Alresford on Friday....I've warned Mrs Hampshire unit not to sunbathe in the garden for the next few weeks whilst the orange army and their paraphanalia are effecting the trackwork changes and renewals at the bottom of my garden. (PS the temperature has finally risen above zero degrees this afternoon, the PW gang yesterday must have been grateful for the stove in the toad parked in the Belle siding)

This is a lot of work to just get some new trucks in that don’t really go there anyway. But more helpful than the WSr would be they wanted to take away their sidings

The S&D's wagons are arguably more at home on the MHR than the WSR, particularly the LSWR examples.

They should be careful as soon as they move them the wsr will shunt some others into washford yard and block off the things in the shed from getting moved out or in

In fact there are four sidings making up the yard. The vintage siding, the down siding, the middle siding and the Belle siding. The spur back towards platform 2 is known as the Cat siding.

There is only one Meon Siding, albeit a very long siding it is at present home to two wagons that will soon be leaving a Maunsell Ironclad and very little else.

There is no extension towards Itchen Abbas happening.

We have room for the SDRT vehicles that are moving to the railway and these should be on display by the time of the gala in May. Why not come and take a look?
