Just got back from Gospel Oak to catch the light engine move 5Z31 to Old Oak Common but it ran early so I missed it. I have however got a feel(or lack of feeling) for what it was like to stand out in the cold today. I can only just about type !

Just back from Kings Cross and defrosting over a good strong coffee. Now that was a sight to see. I'm guessing that NR and the BTP underestimated the public response on this occasion. The place was absolutely rammed and there appeared to be concern about clearing the platform edges to get the train back out of platform one. Definitely raiswed the interest of the ordinary travellers too - and the sound of that chime echoing under the roof.........

Where is the location, its good but I can't 'picture' #-o it. I usually use Eaton Lane or Gamston crossing but I'd like to get some shots of the 222's there as they'd fit well in that shot.

I maged to get to South Muskham just north of Newark this morning to see it pass. There must have been getting on for 100 cars parked on the narrow lane approaching the level crossing. Beautiful weather, fantastic engine. Here are a couple of shots.

Apparently not quite true, heard from a contact onboard that there was an overhead wire defect that caused the delay, apparently Tornado was stuck behind 5 service trains. Alot of trespass was reported but this wasnt the cause of the delay. Oh, the loco performed well too by all accounts!

Do agree however that some idiots out there should know a damn site better! ](*,)

According to Channel 4 News late running was due to OHL problems in the Peterborough area.

I'm sorry but my experience of Joe P is they do not assume danger and and thereby get themselves into all sorts of stupid places. Was at the GC a few weeks ago and saw a young couple walking down the track past Kinchley Lane bouncing their young daughter along the 4 foot. Photters/enthusiasts they weren't and I could quote umpteen more examples.

Saw it pass Oakleigh Park about 20-25 mins down. Station was full of people all set up for it to come through on the fast but in the end it then turned up on the slow! Ah well, you win some, you lose some in this hobby!

I've only done Askham once, down the steps on the up side and a long trudge down to the field on the down side. This was in summer and the foliage was intrusive. I think I've found the spot now, just off Askham Road?

Just had a go at the media saying it's the first steam train to enter the capital for 40-years.

...and what's this with the PC brigade saying it's causing too much 'pollution'...

    Hi
Here is my video of 60163 slowing at Alexandra Palace then opening up after the signal changed.
The platform on the slow line was clear until people saw it coming the they quickly moved over as you can see.

Hmmm, seems to be taken from the bottom of the ramp. If true would you care to explain why you thought you are above the law? :-k

And millions of cars and a dozen or so coal fired power stations and whats left of heavy industry run on fresh air do they ](*,)

These muppets should be lined up and shot, one heritage loco is insignificant in terms of pollution.
